Do you have a great idea that deserves to take flight? Twice a year, we award the NOVI Grant to students from UCN and AAU who have entrepreneurial dreams and innovative business ideas.

How to apply for the NOVI grant

The NOVI Grant is awarded twice a year to students from AAU and UCN with a strong business idea.

The purpose of the NOVI Grant is to promote young talents and contribute to entrepreneurship and innovation in North Jutland. The grant is awarded to a business idea with sustainable and scalable potential.

Who can apply?

You can apply if you:

are students at AAU (9th – 10th semester student or recent graduate) or UCN (5th – 7th semester student or recent graduate)
have an idea or project with potential
wants to develop it into a business

What does the scholarship consist of?

Cash support of DKK 250.000.
Office space at NOVI for 12 months at half price
50 hours of professional advice and accounting assistance from NOVI's experts
Total value: approximately DKK 300.000.

When will the scholarship be awarded?

Spring: At AAU's annual party

Autumn: At UCN's Next Step Graduation Party

Who is behind it?

NOVI Scholarship – AAU Meet the judging panel

The awarding of the NOVI Scholarship, AAU is based on a collaboration and overall assessment between the three judges who make up the judging panel. There are three judges with different backgrounds and experience, but they are united in finding the best winner of the scholarship.

Henrik Lundum, CEO of NOVI Science Park

Henrik has been CEO of NOVI since 2016. He has founded several companies, including his own healthcare company, and is also CEO of the investment fund Investo Capital. With experience from both entrepreneurship, investment and management, he has a strong knowledge of the entire ecosystem.

Mads Peter Veiby, Serial entrepreneur

Mads has extensive experience as a serial entrepreneur and is known for founding the mobile company M1 and the gaming portal spilnu.dk. Today, Mads also does charity work for the Children's Cancer Foundation under the auspices of Sportscarevent.

Mads Bang Innovation Director, AAU

Mads Bang is a civil engineer, a PhD in Business Administration, and an MBA from AAU. In his research into fuel cells, he has developed the company SerEnergy with more than 100 employees, which was sold in 2018. Mads Bang has co-founded the company Blue World Technologies.

Who is behind it?

NOVI Scholarship – UCN Meet the judging panel

UCN students have their own NOVI Scholarship, which was created after an agreement between UCN and NOVI and is awarded once a year. The three judges who collaborate to award the scholarship each bring their own relevant experience.

Henrik Lundum, CEO of NOVI Science Park

Henrik has been CEO of NOVI since 2016 and has founded several companies, including his own healthcare company. He is also CEO of Investo Capital and thus has experience from the entire ecosystem.

Anni Stavnskær Pedersen, UCN Innovation

Anni Stavnskær Pedersen is an expert in innovation and entrepreneurship in the education system. She has many years of experience in developing innovation activities, teaching entrepreneurship and researching how young people are supported in creating and developing their own ideas.

Thomas Helt, Serial Entrepreneur and Investor

As an entrepreneur, Thomas Helt has extensive experience in business development. As a trained physiotherapist, he started WeCare in 2018 when he bought medical clinics from Falck across the country. Through his experience in operating and selling companies, Thomas is now an investor and contributes his experience with what it takes to make a company successful.
