Over the years, the link between health science and engineering has created research breakthroughs, innovative spin-off companies, patents and new programs.
The biomedical research at the faculty has laid the foundation for an emerging medical technology business cluster in Northern Denmark with several spin-off companies that today translate knowledge into practical solutions.
The Faculty of Medicine—also known as SUND, its Danish acronym—consists of two research intensive departments, the doctoral school with three programs, and the School of Medicine and Health with 14 health science programs (master 's, continuing education master’s and bachelor’s programs). SUND shares a joint administration with the Faculty of Engineering and Science with offices at Niels Jernes Vej 10.
